The Duo Dulciâme puts to full advantage the fine new Pierre-Yves Le Blé organ in concert at the Cathedral of Sainte-Geneviève in Nanterre on 17 February 2019. Among the refined features of this North-German-inspired organ is the highly versatile Cromorne 8′ — actually a velvety Dulzian — which combined to translate convincingly a varied program from Bach to English Romanticism, including as an encore the première performance of Kurt Lueders’ recent transcription of Reverie by Robert Schumann.
The program: Josef Rheinberger, Ouverture, op. 150 n° 6 • J. S. Bach, Sonate in b minor, BWV 1014 • George Macfarren, Andante and Rondo • Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens, Hosannah! [organ alone] • Camillo Schumann, Melody, Legend and Scherzo
